Download Xiaohongshu Videos on Android
On Android, Chrome usually writes the MP4 straight into Files → Downloads. This page focuses on that path and how to get the video into Gallery / Google Photos afterward — without sideloading a downloader APK.

Quick steps
- Copy Link in the Xiaohongshu app. Share → Copy link on a public video note.
- Paste in Chrome. Open this site in Chrome or Samsung Internet, paste, tap Download → Download MP4.
- Open Downloads or Gallery. Use the download notification, Files → Downloads, or wait for Gallery to index the MP4.
Saving to Downloads vs Gallery
Chrome’s notification opens the file immediately. To find it later: Files → Downloads (some OEMs label it Download). Sort by date if the name starts with rednote- or xhs-.
Gallery / Google Photos may take a minute to index new videos. Pull to refresh, or open the MP4 from Files and tap “Add to gallery” / share into Photos if your OEM offers it.
When Android blocks the download
- Allow downloads for this site in Chrome site settings.
- Keep the screen on until the progress bar finishes.
- Switching apps mid-transfer can pause Chrome — return to the tab.
